  We visited Shepherd of the Hills and immediately felt welcome. This is a church for everyone.. whether you were raised in the church or have had absolutely no exposure. All of the above are already there, and all are welcomed with equal compassion. Shepherd of the Hills is a family church where you see the same people every week and they know your name and are involved in your life. We have two small children who were received warmly as well.
  
  ELCA churches are accepting to absolutely everyone, and this church is no exception. Everything is based solidly in scripture and it is such a relief to hear the true Word that is full of love, forgiveness, grace and acceptance.
  
  Finally, but most importantly, Pastor Marty is one of the most gifted I have ever heard. All sermons are very solidly based on scripture, and his interpretation is incredibly moving and thought provoking. Growing up, I would never have believed that today I hate missing church. I simply don't want to miss what Pastor Marty has to say. After visiting for quite a while, we are joining - the first one in ten years. It has helped me understand faith as a journey and a quest, and that church membership requires no pre-requisite of perfection.
  
  There is so much mis-information about Christianity out there. As a friend says often, "God gets a lot of bad press". With some of the crazy people and ideas out there, it is no wonder that some are scared away from church entirely. But the real Message, separate from the agendas of individual people, is incredibly peaceful, loving, and accepting. If you spend an hour here one Sunday, I expect you will leave feeling touched and blessed.

  Come as you are...all are welcome. Here you will be welcomed joyfully, hear the Word, participate in the sacraments, and experience Spirit-led worship. The pastor is a caring, outgoing, solidly Bible-based leader. The lay leaders are insightful and open minded. The mission of the church is to reach out to the community and the world with love.
